Is this an ear infection? Should I take her to the vet for antibiotics?

A vet is always the best option when available. It could be infection, the vet could recommend the best antibiotic to use. It may also need to be cleaned out. It's also possible that it could be a cyst or tumor, hard to determine from a picture.

I am interested in how you were able to resolve this for your chicken because my rooster seems to have something yellowish coming out of his ear also. Hard to tell because he recently molted. I’m still looking for answers. Please take a look at the picture and tell me if this is how yours started.

Sorry I didn’t respond until now. I hope all is well with him. A little drainage is ok but if the ear gets swollen it’s probably infected. She went to the vet. She got antibiotics and cleaned. I kept it clean with hydrogen peroxide but got it in her eye at one point! It was horrible I felt so bad!! But she is fine. She has been perfectly healthy since. The vet it just happened by some crude getting in there.
