Ear lobe color and egg color?

I've read various posts here that predicted egg color based on ear lobe color. Is that a reliable predictor?

We have 16 week old pullets...

2 that look like leghorns, but they have pale green ear lobes
3 that are probably production reds, but 2 have white ear lobes

Should we expect brown/pink eggs from the leghorns, and white eggs from the 2 production reds?

I don't know a lot yet but I am pretty sure the Production Reds will be brown eggs.

My Leghorns lay white eggs & my Production browns(Isa Brown) lay brown.

I know the other posts didn't answer your question, I believe its suposed to be a very good indicator of what color eggs you will get, when my campine starts laying I'll let you know if its right, because she is suposed to have white earlobes and white eggs but I think she has red lobes the egg will be the tell.

It's an imperfect indicator. There are exceptions to the rules.

Thanks for the replies. We got our little flock to supply ourselves with eggs, no intention of ever selling them, so no matter the color we'll be happy to get the eggs. It'll be interesting to see if lobe color corresponds to shell color with ours. I hope we get some soon.
