My Azure blue hen Pearl has a open wound on side of head by earlobe? Noticed it midday today, could the other hens have pecked her? How do I help her to heal? Do I have to separate her from the others? So new to raising chickens, she’s my kids favourite I hope she’ll be ok, any advice is appreciated!
Pearl is 13 weeks old, lives in coop/run with 7 other hens her age (there’s 4 different breeds) haven’t noticed any bullying, can’t see where she could have got hurt.
I’ll attach pics.
Thanks in advance

So clean the wound with rubbing alcohol and then stiche it up with a needle and thred.
DON'T STITCH IT UP! Without experience that could cause long term pain and infections.

Keep her separate until she heals, the other chickens will peck her if they see the wound. I always have vetericyn on hand for wounds.

Thanks for the advice, do you think it’s ok to wait till morning to separate her? I don’t have anywhere to put her for the night, i can get something in the morning, (I do have a large cat carrier that could do if it’s too dangerous to leave her with the other girls.
I won’t be able to buy vetericyn until Monday morning, should I use anything else until then?
Thanks
