Hey everyone,

So, I have a big problem and kind of freaking out. I have 6 eggs that were due to go into lockdown within the next few days. They were mixed in with a bigger batch due to hatch at the end of March. I was going to put the 6 on lockdown in another incubator this weekend.

Now, I went to check on the incubator and one of the 6 started to pip. How am I supposed to turn my other younger eggs? I'm afraid to open the incubator.

I guess this is a lesson learned to not mix early and older stages of eggs.. but any help or advise on what to do about the turning of the younger eggs would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Just open the incubator and turn them. Its not that hard and won't cause issues, just make sure the keep the humidity steady.

If you have a different incubator, you could move the pipped egg over too.

Thank you! I will try that. I just hope it won't cause shrink wrap.

Shrink wrapping won't happen unless you open the incubator a TON. Just turning the eggs a few times a day won't cause issues. What day are the other eggs on? Technically if you stop turning on day 15, they would still be fine. Chicks are pretty tough.

They are on day 11. :)
