My chicken eggs in the incubator are starting to pip. I have two that have this morning. This is the day 18 that was scheduled to take them out of the egg turner. Momma chicken must of started them off before I snatched them.
I opened the incubator and took all the eggs out of the turner and got it set up not to disturb. I worked as fast as possible.
My question is what is the best position to lay the piped eggs for them to continue their hatch.
Thank You for any suggestions. I am new to incubator hatching

My duck eggs chirped and pipped two days early, but they hatched until day 28.
I just let my eggs set on their sides. If there is an external pop already, lay them so the pip is up.

Thank you! That is what I thought but I really had no clue. I want to give them the best chance they can get.

My last hatch my first chick to pip was mid day 18. Usually if they hatch early it is a sign that your temps during incubation were a tad higher than the recommended. Such an exciting time. Yes, pip up is the best. Good luck!

That one just popped out of its shell. It seems to be the only one so far. Hope some others get going as it gonna be lonely in its brooder. I have two guinea eggs that have a little pip but nothing since this morning. Kinda fun..... Kinda nerve wracking LOL
