Daisy is doing well. Seeing less and less shell-less eggs. A lot of her eggs are double yolked but she is still doing well. How is Daisy? Did her eggs become more normal? I have 16/17 week Red Star pullets that have started laying. One of the girls is having a similar issue to Daisy.
sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I did not see this text. All three of my pullets started off laying "soft" eggs so I am not sure what is going on but they are all doing well and for the most part laying proper eggs.I was not specific in my question. I was wondering if the soft shell issue resolved. I am not concerned about when the pullets begin to lay. My Red Star pullet is passing more than one egg per day and is therefore passing soft eggs. Today she had three eggs. One was normal and the other two were just membrane. I am hoping this issue clears. I have raised many chickens, but I have never encountered this issue. It is not a calcium issue. It seems to be hyper ovulation of some type.
