Early layer?

Hey all...our Barred Rock hen laid her first egg yesterday. It was only the size of a ping-pong ball, but had nice coloring. She's around 12-13 wks of age. We're still new to this, but it seems quite early for eggs?

Yes, that is young, but possible. Maybe she's a couple of weeks older, since you are unsure?

She looked like your normal chicks...which are typically days old, right? Very small when we got them...but they shot right up in growth. Who knows I guess..lol.
