Wow, a couple of days ago, one of my hens started laying one small egg a day. They aren't supposed to start laying until the first of July. Not complaining. She has done so the last two days! Delicious but small.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided join our flock. It's always nice to start getting eggs ahead of schedule, and those eggs will get much larger over the next few weeks.) Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.

Congratulations on her first egg. The first of many more to follow.

Was it a sexlink or leghorn? The can start as early as 4 months. :) I love the Red Sexlinks. And leghorns. Great egg layers.

Welcome and congratulations on your first eggs.

Those small ones are so funny, but do taste great. If you try to boil them, be prepared for a difficult peeling - steam them instead.

They will gradually get larger as she continues to lay.

Welcome to BYC! Please make yourself at home and we are here to help.

Congrats on the first eggs!
