I received eggs from a local farmer to hatch in my classroom and some of them were refrigerated before I got them. I've had great luck hatching eggs that have been in the fridge up to a week before getting them so I wasn't worried about them hatching. I start the incubation countdown with these eggs when I put them in the incubator and they all hatch around the same time. I guess 2021 is going to be a "we don't follow the norm" year when it comes to my hatching.
My chicks were supposed to start hatching on Friday but SURPRISE, some started to pip today. I rushed to take the turner out and bump up the humidity but I know it was low when they started to pip.
The question is, how long do I wait before I assist? I know 24 hours is the norm, but since the humidity was so low, do I need to be concerned?
