Early quacker?

Is it possible I’m hearing quacks out of a three week old Pekin? That seems crazy early.

It is possible. I have had a duck start to change their voice that early. They usually peep and occasionally quack. The timeframe can vary a lot between ducks.

I was surprised to hear my little Khaki letting out tiny quacks mixed in with her peeps at around 2 weeks or less. At first I thought it was an obstructed airway but now at almost 4 weeks she has soft, little quacks mixed in 50/50 with peeps. So darn cute.

Mine sometimes start their puberty "quacks" around that time. I'd hardly call them real quacks, mostly just sound horrifying until you're out there and see that they are fine LOL
