Hey! First time incubating, and was wondering if this is normal.

Eggs were put in on the 28th of April, and last night at around 12am I noticed one of the chicks has knocked off a piece of his shell. Since then, now 6pm the following day, he has made little progress but continues to chirp every once in a while. He’s the first to make progress.

Is this normal? How long should I wait before worrying?

How much progress he has made since

Thank you for any feedback.

Update: I peeled away a bit of the shell and carefully poked an air hole into the membrane where he had already tried. Within a few hours, he finally hatched!!

Now we’ve got 3 hatched and 2 more have pipped. Wish them luck!
