Emily shot to her feet. She set her jaw and walked quickly down to sector 9. She looked at the computer screen.

"Ma'am." Kyra said with a respectful nod to the corporal. "The unidentified objects seem to be some sort of spacecraft. There's a possibility it's the covenant. I know it's most unlikely, but they have been quiet for many years. I don't think it's because they surrendered..." She said in a warning tone to Emily.

Emily's jaw tightened. She straightened. "I want readings on the spacecraft. Get me some identification on them, now." She said through clenched teeth.

Kyra sat down in the chair, typing quickly. Her fingers could hardly be seen as she typed, her eyes searching the screen. "Lock on a spacecraft...." She said finally, her fingers freezing over the keyboard. "It's.... It's the covenant." She said in a pinched voice.
