Earthworms vs mealworms?

Anyone know if there difference in feeding mealworms vs earthworms? My chicks love dried meal worms! It is a huge treat..just wasn't sure if one was better than the other..

I have heard that earthworms can carry blackhead and though it is more of a problem for turkeys, can affect chickens as well. I would stick with the meal worms. That being said, I have fed chickens earth worms in the past with no apparent problems, but now knowing it could be dangerous, I don't.

My chickens are out in my yard and dig up earthworms occasionally and eat them - what can you do?

I cant stop the...

Definitely can't stop them from digging in the yard, that's for sure! I will just not buy them .. Just started a meal worm colony, we'll see how that goes...thank you!

mine rarely eat earthworms, maybe they taste like poo.
