Earwigs in duck house

Does anyone have any tips for keeping earwigs out of duck house? I’ve been consistent about changing the bedding every week and making sure I keep the moisture to a minimum, but it hasn’t helped. I just don’t know what to do about the pitchers They are everywhere

I’m in agreement. The pinchers don’t pinch, so they’re not dangerous to ducks. In fact I catch them by hand and feed them to dux.

My ducks seek them out when I move the dishes in the morning. I keep no food or water in the duck house and have a wood floor.

Is your floor dirt or wood?
Do you keep water in the duck house?

Sprinkling a Garden Spray Poultry Dust in the floor of the coop should help alleviate the problem, or spraying the inside of the coop a few times with a Premthrin Based Insect Spray.

it’s has wood floor and yes I have been keeping a pan of water in the corner of the pen enclosure itself not directly in their hut. i’ll start by taking that water out and then looking into the spray that was recommended.

If your water is not in the duck house but earwigs are....and you want them gone I would treat the house like Isaac posted.

I would think they might eat them. They are all in my coop bedding too. My chickens eat any spiders, insects, etc. they see so I would be hesitant about spraying an insecticide. If they eat the poisoned insect, it could harm them, or go into their bloodstream, thus their eggs... that you ingest so.... I would stick to possibly diatomaceous earth. A few sprinkles and toss it in the bedding if they really are a problem for you. I haven’t had any problems with them so far. Good luck.
