Easiest way for a beginner to candle eggs...Please help!!

Just a note on the mini mag lite. Take off the little clear plastic piece that goes on the end over the light bulb. The flashlight will fit more snuggly on the egg. I found this out when my plastic ended up all scuffed up and felt I needed to remove it.

I have an old goose-neck (desk) lamp. I took a piece of deer hide, cut a small circle in it, and put it on the lamp with a rubber band. Works great!

Thanks for the advice! I am worried about the one egg that the air sac looked different. Does anyone know what I am talking about and what are the possibilities of it hatching?

why do people candle in the first place is what i dont understand . i have not had a egg explode or smell and with the dark wheaten marans
ya cant see a darn thing except wich end is up at 6 days or so
