East TN Folks... Meet & Greet 4/10, Show on 5/1 (updated)

Thanks for posting your pics of your Wyandottes. It looks like mine are just about at the same stage that your's were. I guess that they are just slower to feather than my others are! By the way, it would be great to have a "chicken picnic" out at your farm. Chicken being menu optional, of course! Deviled eggs, however, would be a requirement!

Justin, I'm not sure that I have seen anything quite as entertaining as Marbles riding on your dashboard! We lost track of you as you turned by Lowes, but he was still hanging tight! What a cool bird!

It was really great to meet everyone, and I look forward to next time!

Had such a great time at the meet up that I had to go home and take a nap!

I think a picnic sounds like an AWESOME idea. Maybe we can get more family members involved that way too. Thanks for offering to host, bibliophile birds!! (no guesses on your roo, but he's pretty)
Loved putting more faces with names. Hopefully we can add some new folks for the picnic, too!

possumblossum, glad you got Marble home safe and sound. You now have a trio of beautiful roos!

Mtn Cur, hate it that you missed out on the meeting. There's a show 5/1 where chickens will be for sale, another sale in Dandridge 5/8. And there's the NC get together 4/24. What kind of chickens are you interested in? Chicks or started hens?

Stacy, sure hope all your birds are hens. Not that that will solve all your problems

But maybe you could sell a couple to Mtn Cur?

I had a blast at our meet-up. bibliophile birds, I think a picnic is a wonderful idea - I make a mean potato salad (lots of boiled eggs). Don't know what kind your rooster is , but he's very good looking.
possumblossum - I sat in that parking lot watching you drive away laughing my head off. Other people looked at me like I was crazy. That rooster is a keeper! Loved all your pics. I wish we had one of you driving away with Marbles up front leading the way - "Forward Ho". Wonder what he was thinking?
It was so nice to meet everyone, can't wait 'til the next one.

wegotchickens- I got a dozen dominiques in the bator right now. If these don't hatch, I want to get australorp chicks. I'm too impatient to watch eggs for almost a month.

Probably would have chewed the fat had I been on here a little sooner.

Well, if you don't get any chicks from your dominique eggs you will definitely see some chicks at the Cocke County show 5/1.

Sorry you weren't able to sit down and yak with us. There will definitely be a next time!

And by the way,

neighbor! What part of Seymour are you in?

I'm in blount co. but this area is considered seymour. Off of burnett station around the bay's mountain golf course if you know where that is. Close to where blount, knox, and sevier all come together.

I know where that is. My husband has played Bays Mountain several times. I'm on the south side of Maryville on 129 highway - where all the motorcycles go zooming past my house on their way to ride the dragon.

I actually passed my wife and kids up as I drove past the big Walker Supply building...they about had a wreck when they saw that bird on the dash and my coop upside down in the back of the truck. They thought it had flipped out after I'd picked him up.

Mtn Cur you are not too far away from me at all. I'm on the other side of Chapman, down Old Sevierville Pike.

possumblossum, I bet whoever took those cords from your truck REALLY felt bad about the pen. Glad no one wrecked!

kcsunshine, I've probably passed your place as well. We go over the Dragon from Maryville when the Parkway is closed down. Have ex-relatives in Robbinsville and we take Cj to visit them every so often.
