I'm consoling myself with the thought that by starting late maybe they'll be happier, healthier and lay higher quality baby-filled eggs than an early layer. Maybe I'm delusional.
DH thinks if I start feeding them layer feed it'll trigger them to start laying. I'm going to, but only because I'm out of chick starter. I can tell him it's not linked, but darned if the big girls (BO's & EE's)didn't get over their molt at the same time as we ran out of the high protein feed! Weird, huh? And if the millies start laying right away he will be soooo smug....
