Hey ya’ll, well this is my first time incubating/hatching eggs. I stay in East TX where its humid. Im on Day 1, but my humidity won’t go down 65%. I empty the water out the tray earlier. Is it ok to run it like that for days 1-18?

Just to clarify, are you asking if it's okay to run the incubator without water in the trays (until lockdown)? I think in a lot of places where it is humid*, people have great success with a "dry hatch."

A humidity of about 45-50% during incubation and 60-65% during lockdown is usually what I aim for. If you can find a secondary hygrometer, it might be useful to double-check your incubator's reading.

Use a towel and dry the water drops off the sides etc.. and then give it a few hours to adjust and see where it is.. the answer is no, it's not a good idea to run at 65% full time for days 1-18 and would very likely end up drowning at pip.
Thanks! Really worked, idk why I didn’t think of that. Had to actually move them to a different spot. Now it bounces 55-57%
