Info on the Ameraucana (yes, we think she's an EE),
Got as a day-old chick on 3/24/10 & was the biggest of our grouping of different breeds.
We were told the feed store was going to get all pullets, but this day the order of Ameraucanas were unsexed (Privett Hatchery).
We were originally concerned this one was a boy because he was the biggest & grew so fast (Haha! With reading other posts I think our logic was illogical!!)

We have been calling this one "Mary" for Ameraucana.
Very independent though slightly better than "Ari," our other EE!

What's your vote?

I think it's an Easter Egger not Americauna and it looks like a girl by the coloring.

Thanks, Joedie! We think he's an EE too. It sounded with our research that Ameraucanas & Araucanas are really only available through breeders & not hatcheries.

Oh we would be so happy if he were a she...

EE roos don't have this coloring at all. They are kind of multicolored. Keep the name, I'm positive this is a girl. I have 2 that look just like her! BTW,

We have a 3 month old "ameracauna" read (ee) from orscheln and she was identical to this. Very flighty compared to the rest but definetly hen. Our boy the same age as her is tie dyed looking. Very cool looking little guy. So keep her name cause she's probably a hen. Although she was my first and I swore she looked and acted like a roo when you see a boy you can tell the difference.

This is what I thought too. I have one like this I was certain was a pullet until at 5 weeks her comb turned pink. It's not enlarged like it's brother hatch mates are but pink enough that I wont sell it as a pullet yet.

Bingo - EE roosters don't have this color.

- And, yeah, this is an Easter Egger too, not an Ameraucana.

I appreciate all your responses. We'll post updated pics in a week or two. We'd like to see him become more people-driven as he ages (if he's a she, which sounds like it might be the case).

New pics from today. Can you tell me that she's still a girl even with the red bits on her body/wing feathering? How is it different from roo redness (at least what it sounds like on here).
