Easter Egger club!

I just hatched and EE chick. Named her Minty after the pretty egg she came out of smile She is a brownish chick, no stripes. Any idea what color she will end up as?

I don't think you can know as it depends on her parentage. I had a brown one with very few markings and he/she is developing a deep russet colour (at three weeks).... that's from the roo who is a barnevelder x welsummer. I'm not sure which of my hens is the mom?

Here are a couple of pics... then and now. Fun to see how they change.

She is that pretty reddish brown with some black. I hope she holds the coloring as she matures, it is so pretty!

I too love the reddish brown colour and the partridge veined feathers... Ariel looks like she'll be a bit lighter around the head than my Pingu!! Now... here's hoping for a hen (egg layer) and a pea comb (green eggs)!! Although my 10yo son does want an EE roo!!

Only the white one has a name, he, she is George

I have a white one too, Ponyo (again named by a 2 year old). She is the biggest chicken, I don't mean she's large in stature, she's scared of everything. I can't get a picture of her to save my life.

day 1, I think she was literally just hatched the day before:

2 or 3 weeks old, I can't remember:

I will die if either of the two we just hatched are roos (we have a tiny red silkie chick too). We are city folk and that means I will have to rehome them. I hope that since Minty came out of a green egg, she will be more likely to lay green eggs.
