That's penciling. Lacing is crisp, black/blue/white lines around the edge of the feathers. Penciling is base-color around the edges.

Gotcha. So why are silver laced wyandottes called that? They look the same basically. Not being smart honestly curious.

Silver laced Wyandottes have silver/white feathers, rimmed with black. The black is around the edge of the feather, not in the middle or throughout.

I will have to get a more recent pic of her. She has filled in now with all her wing feathers and almost all her chest with that same pattern. She is very pretty actually, and just laid one of the blue or blue/green eggs I posted farther up! Now if only she wasn't a skittish freak....

cool I cant wait to see what she looks like full grown. I bet blacks are just beautiful, with the puffy beards and checks.
