Easter Egger club!

Uh oh!

OK, So I'm going down to the pen to check for eggs, make sure they have enough feed and get the ice bottles out of their waterer to refreeze them. I get halfway down when all of a sudden there is this gawdawfull screeching! I double-time it the last few feet thinking "OMG, there goes another hen!".

Well when I get there I do see one hen desperately trying to get away...from Chaz!

He is desperately holding onto the back of her neck and trying to climb on top! Only problem is she is having absolutely none of this $#!t. For that matter I haven't seen any of the pullets squatting yet, even when I pet them. That doesn't seem to be discouraging him though.

Can I arrest a rooster for statutory rape?

I would have stepped up the pace too! Bad Chaz!!!!!! My 10 week old Leghorn cockerel is already mounting the girls his age and they let him, but my 20 week old Ameraucana is just too darn polite. None of his girls like him.

I really want like a goldenish white color but I guess I'm just going to have to deal with what I get right? Well, I just should be grateful that I'm even getting chickens! Am I right? Lol

Lol I know what you mean and are going through I was like that when I first started its so hard to guess at what they'll look like as an adult because they change so much just look for the blondest chick u see and maybe you'll get lucky

How could I forget the biggest chicken of them all lol

he'd try to eat the chicks if he could but he does love helping me do chicken chores and acts like I'm killing him if he doesn't get enough love

World say hello to Bailey

Can you tell what color your EE will look like when it grows or can you not even really tell?
There is absolutely no way to be certain, just by looking at a chick, what coloring it will have once it's grown. That is part of the Easter Egger charm. If you want to know what a bird will look like as an adult, get real Ameraucana.
