I was explaining to one of my egg customers about the color of eggs, and than I remembered Easter Eggers.

What color eggs do they lay? I know pale blue, but do they lay other colors. If so what color and are the colors consistent for a hen?

Easter Eggers can lay any color egg imaginable (various shades of blue, green and brown. I even bought an EE who ended up laying white eggs). If you're looking to guarantee yourself a certain color egg, blue for example, buy Ameraucanas. Or Olive Eggers if you'd like dark green. You can sort of take a guess at what color egg your EE hen might lay by the color of their legs, but you can never be sure until you actually see the egg they lay. My white egg laying EE had the prettiest blue legs, so I assumed she'd lay blue eggs, she sure fooled me. Good luck, I love my EEs. They add extra pizzazz to my egg basket (and I sell a ton of their eggs around Easter, I guess to lazies who don't care to dye them themselves

It really is a "wait and see" with the EE's. My little bantam EE who has gray/green legs lays a very pale pinkish egg. I have another one who has the most beautiful olive green legs - thus her name, Olive, who hasn't started to lay yet. She is only 15 weeks old tomorrow so I know it will be at least 5 more weeks before I can tell. I'm hoping for green but will gladly accept whatever she gives. I have Black Australorps, Lt Brahmas and EE's so am getting a range of browns and the pink.

I have a little bantam EE who lays pale pinkish eggs. Her legs were a grey/green so I thought sure I would get blue or green eggs but I'm perfectly happy with the little pink ones. I also have a standard EE who has the most beautiful olive green legs - thus her name - Olive. She is just 15 weeks old so no eggs yet but I'm really hoping for green. My other laying hens are Australorps and Lt Brahmas so I get a full range of brown eggs. You just don't know until they actually start laying and yes, once they start to lay the color will remain pretty consistent.
