Hi, I was wondering how do you get a EE with this kind of feather coloring or something similar? Do you have to use different breeds with Ameraucanas? (Not my photo)View attachment 1964577

Hi there, welcome to BYC! :frow

That's a standard looking Easter Egger... and my feed store EE hen throws some babies like that when crossed to my Marans.. I would just choose a variety of feed store EE... that look slightly different and see what you get.

Or just cross Easter Eggers... and get basically get what you are looking for... I do not believe you need to use a standard Ameraucana to achieve that look... You might not be able to tell... but my buff looking EE is actually blue based (grey beard and tail feathers).

You might also be able to get that crossing like a blue laced red Wyandotte (or anything laced) with an EE or if using Ameraucana, not sure which color I would use... maybe blue, blue wheaten, or silver... see photos of the different standard colors here...

Best wishes and happy chickeneering! :wee

Not sure if this is helpful but I think my girl looks similar to the hen in your picture. Here’s the two birds I used to get that pattern

My goodness, those two roosters shown are beautiful! :love
I have had 4 EEs that are that brown/grey coloring. All slightly different but essentially the same.

Similar to my EE l have. I purchased her though, don't know parents.
