Hi all! This Is Easter my 8 year old daughters chick from our order of 7. Easter is 5 1/2 weeks old now. She was always the largest and used to be very friendly till she moved to the coop this week and now doesn’t really want much to do with us. She was very evenly colored till a week ago. She was always the biggest chick and was the first to feather out. I don’t have any other EE though to compare. Her behavior, large legs and color is making me wondering about her and is driving me a little crazy lol! This is our first time with chickens. I don’t know if I have the patience to wait this gender game out lol! I know it’s early, but just wondering on opinions. Is Easter a he???

Do cockerels usually become unfriendly? All the other chicks run to us and like to be held, but Easter seems like she could care less about us. She was not this way a week and a half ago. Maybe she is trying to make the goodbye easier as she used to be our favorite. I’m just going to be really sad and my daughter also if it’s a boy ... we really wanted a colored egg:(.

Hi Everyone, I am having similar difficulties with figuring out which of my 11 weeks old easter egger bantams are male or females. I have been reading up a lot about this; however, I don’t think I am understanding this correctly at this time. If anyone is willing to help me out a bit it would be greatly appreciated.

These are the three bantams below.

This is my first time buying a few bantam breeds and EE bantams as well. Thank you for your time and help.

I thought so too but I just wasn’t sure at all. But I did plan for this scenario, and bought 8 Ameraucana pullets a couple of weeks ago and will likely pair them with these boys in separate Pens. The best part is that I know they are all males and can move on now. Thanks a lot for your help, it really makes a big difference to know for sure.

They look like boys to me, but I am definitely not one to ask lol!
