Purchased from a local hatchery as a female... do I have a pullet? This is my daughter's absolute favorite chicken. So many tears will be shed if she is a boy because we can't keep roosters.

9 weeks. I think cockerel, too. We are new to chickens so I am not sure. Wanted to ask the experts on here. Thanks for responding!

Life is hard! This is our 3rd (out of 8 "pullets" we started with) cockerels we've had to rehome. This one is going to break her heart but we'll get a cute new one to heal the wound.No problem! And sorry

You know, every accidental boy I've gotten was a feed store pullet. Birds from breeders and hatcheries have been correctly sexed.... Hmmmm....
