Easter egger hen!

At what age do easter egger hens start to lay?? Just wondering when my winco find should start to lay.

Anywhere from 18-28 weeks +/- 2 weeks.... average with the ones I've had has been 21-22

Imminent signs of lay (a week or two) include submissive squatting in front of you (more so if you do not have a cock bird) and checking out the nesting boxes.

A lot depends on feeding program and age of bird in relation to summer solstice. Higher protein feed/FF and onset of puberty around summer solstice may have her laying at 16 weeks. Onset of puberty after summer solstice and lower protein will push POL back. Then, there's the genetics.
