So I hatched this chick from my own flock. He’s a product of Fuzzy

But his leg color doesn’t match theirs. His general coloring doesn’t really either. Now he’s still just a chick and the coloring could change. But I’m wondering about the leg color mostly. How does he end up with different colored legs than the parents?
I’m not sure what Fuzzy is besides an EE. My sister thinks he might have had some RIR in him. Buttercup is supposed to be a buff orp x RIR. And Honey is supposed to be a RIR. I’m not sure if that’s the girls actual breeds but it’s what I was told when I got their eggs.

The pattern will change most likely as he gets older, will probably be some form of "black patterned red" and honestly if you're not showing them (which you can't show EE's anyway) the exact color doesn't matter too too much : D

The leg color, coming from an EE dad, isn't too much of a surprise to me honestly. I think two yellow legged birds can make a green/willow legged bird (If I recall, there's two genes that make the leg color) I can't wait to see the chick all grown up : D

I figured the pattern would change as he grew. I just think it’s a funky pattern because Fuzzys pattern wasn’t like that as a chick and neither were the girls.

The leg color comes from the dad? I find genetics interesting but chicken genetics are confusing. I hatched another chick from these three as well that has yellow legs. I think when this chick hatched he had yellow legs and his leg color changed.
These are the two chicks. The one with the dark stripe is the one who has the willow colored legs. I guess I didn’t take a picture of their legs as babies.

I also can’t wait to see what he will look like too. He has Fuzzys puffy cheeks and is super cute.
