Easter egger rooster or hen?

Hello everyone!

We received a shipment of day old chicks 8-9 weeks ago. There were 4 Easter eggers and a couple barred rocks. They were all supposed to be pullets but ended up with two roosters for sure. This post is about the last one that I’m unsure of. The two that are definitely roosters were pretty easy to tell but this one Im not too sure. I appreciate your input!

That's a tough one! It has a color pattern normally associated with female EEs, but it's splotchy like a male EE and has a pretty big comb. Mixed signals. I would give it a couple of more weeks and re-evaluate.

IMO, with a comb like that at 8 weeks old it's male, do you have pics of your other male EEs combs for comparison?

That's quite a bit of comb. And the dark red splothches on the wings and back remind me a lot of my easter egger cockerel at that age. I vote male.

Really pretty bird by the way.

I just took some more pictures where you can see the comb better. It’s smaller and not as red as the two other roosters.

I believe it is a cockerel. Very large comb for its age.
