Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

I've got an EE chick who seems to have somewhat unusual coloring and I am just *dying* to see how she (hopefully she...) turns out! Anyone wanna tender a guess as to gender?

Mochuela is 30 days old in the following pictures:

Mochuelo is the Spanish word for "owlet" -- here's why I named her that (pic from when she was 15 days old):

Not a cockerel yet! You may have one of those hulking pullets. I have one too. She is one of my largest hens. This pic (not mine) is the best example I could quickly find of a male comb with the 3 distinct bumpy rows. This chick is older than yours, but if you see this in the next week or two, expect a cockerel. Pullets tend to keep a single ridge down the center. As with everything, there are exceptions of course, but these are the traits most commonly seen.

Thank you for the responses! Now I am super anxious to see what it is.

Very cute chick, and it is an unusual color. Too young to sex, I think. If it's a cockerel, it will get dark red patchy areas on the wings, so keep an eye out. Hope you can post some updated pictures in a week or 2. I'd love to see how this one turns out.

We have 10 spring chicks in total and judging by our backyard, they are starting their next molt, so I will post new pictures when they have their final feathering. Any opinions on Wilford and Owl in their current state are greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Crankles, that's rad that you named your EE chick Owl! I named mine Mochuela, which is the Spanish word for 'owlet'. Some of them really look like owls, don't they? :)

Her face looked just like a little owl when she hatched! If I had to name her now it would probably be Blackbeard lol, but we're going to stick with Owl. I really hope she keeps being a pullet!

She's in the back left corner of this pic
