Wahhhh!!!! NoOooOoo!!! Storm! That means I probably hatched all roos!!! Agh!!!! Opal has pointy neck feathers and that's why I was leaning towards roo... But her/his comb is still flat and she/he has been the only one allowed to sleep in the coop, by my mean girl hens, and has also been the most shy, so hmm, possibly is a pullet... Are you basing Storm's gender on comb development, junebuggena?
I think I see saddle feathers starting coming in on Storm. All are still a bit young for very visible male feathering. It will be very clear in another 2 weeks, what the gender is for all.

I can't wait two weeks, I want to know now! LOLOL just kidding!
Here's another shot... What does everyone think? Could it just be her feathers hang to the side...? They aren't pointed or shiny at all... My roo is already glossy green with a full tail.

Quote: I just blew up the photo and took a close look, and I think I see the possible saddle feathers that junebuggena is talking about. I think I might change my vote to cockerel. I'm still not entirely sure though. Lav birds can be tricky sometimes. This guy might just be a late bloomer.

Oy... Alright fine! LOL I still hope *she* grows into them... I did scroll through old posts and see one that claimed her lav pullet was similar, that seemed to have droopy saddle feathers but turned out pullet so I will wait the two weeks for both Storm and Opal... But Chaos is another story, lol... He's going to live with my friend because my hens can't seem get along with him at all...

Okay here we go, 11 weeks old, genders needed for the blue and white two:

"Storm" the Blue EE:

This is the one that looks like saddle feathers are starting to come. Not the feathers that are on the sides. The ones that are just starting to emerge on the back, starting at the shoulders to the base of the tail is the area where the saddle feathers come in at.

2 EEs in my growing mixed flock. Lucy and Ethel. I suspect Ethel may be a cockerel but I know it's hard to tell this early. Ethel has the orange tinted neck feathers and darker chipmunk stripe on her head.

Hmm you all have a better eye than I it seems. I'm on the side of pullet for now but I'm hoping more pictures will be posted of this guy/gal on the way of knowing for sure. I love this thread. It's become a test for me to try out my visual sexing skills. Also on a side note, Storm is beautiful! Roo or Pullet they are stunning.

I hope @danyelle123 will part the lower back feathers and look. If there is a patch of male saddles emerging, that's the easiest way to see them.
