Both look like pullets.
It's still too early to tell for sure, but so far the coloring is pretty even and the red coming in is not ''rooster red''. I think this one is a pullet at least for now. Post updated pics in a week or two. Do they have enough space and adequate protein? Those are usually the leading causes for feather picking.
I
Some updated pics of my (probable) roo. This one is picked on quite a bit, and has had it's feathers plucked out of its back a few times, but they are growing back in now. The feather color is still a little purplish pink from the pick-no-more. It's comb is pinker than my others, but barely raised. It is the most fearful and timid. Thoughts?

Thank you for validating my guess. I'm pretty disappointed. I had 2 EEs who were both supposed to be pullets and both turned out to be roos. Guess I'll try again! You're right, that's a cockerel.
the thing is, all 3 of the other cockerels obtained in the same week have very obvious saddle and hackle feathers 1/2 out of the sheath already, long and pointy. This ones are all rounded and flat on the end. Yet she is at least as old as 2 of them if not older as she was significantly more feathered than the Wyandotte rooster. I'm certainly not arguing your experience, just truly puzzled, im not devastated if its male...I got too many chicks this year for the long term plan. I just really still see nothing past the color. I am mildly disappointed if its male but not enough to be in denial.Plus the black chest. Have you ever seen a black chest on a hen that wasn't black everywhere? I don't think it's genetically possible.
They are too young.Ok, I am still trying to understand the coloring pattern clues.
So tell me if I am correct on my guesses so far.
FYI: these chicks are completely broody raised, so not so easy to get a hold of or take pictures of..
Chick 1:
This one I go back and forth on, however I think pullet
Chick 2
I seem to think cockerel
Chick 3
I think pullett
Any guesses?
