Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

I'm hoping someone can help me. I picked this little cutie out of a bantam bin. Not sure of the age. Is it an Easter egger bantam? Boy or girl?

It's very cute, but too young to sex. Slender legs make me hopeful for a pullet. Maybe you could post back with an updated pic in a couple of weeks.

It's hard to say because of the influence of the Cochin straight comb. Leaning toward cockerel, but you should only have to wait another week or so to know for sure, so we'll keep fingers crossed for a pullet.

I need help sexing one of these. The dad was an ee/cochin mix and the mom was an ee hen. They came from green eggs. The blue one has a definite 3 row pea comb...I know he's a rooster. But his hatch mate has a pea comb that seems pretty big to me. They're 4 1/2 weeks and I'm really hoping the black one is a pullet. I had to help it hatch and it almost didn't make it.

Solid colored chicks are harder to tell. The comb does look prominent though. But I agree, you need to wait a little longer before you can tell for sure.

Anyone wanna take a guess at these 3-4 week old bantam Easter Eggers? They both have orange legs(not green), and are feathering out at the same rate. The chick with the yellow head is definitely larger than the chick with the red head.

Thank you very much! I will for sure post back again in a few weeks. I'm just making myself dizzy by reading how to sex young chicks...I'm hoping for a pullet too. I just didn't know if the chick had any definite things that pointed towards male or female. It's hard to judge, as my other two chicks are much younger looking.

I know that at 3 weeks, these are too young to sex but what goes with the difference in their tails? The light colored one and then 3 others what are dark like the top one barely have a fluff of a tail and then 2 of them, (both dark), have the define tail feathers sticking up !! They all have the greenish dark legs

Curved, pointy tails indicated male on mine. My pullets tails stick up like an adult hen does. Compare leg thickness with each other. Males have slightly thicker legs than females.

Very sweet. Maybe people will have a guess in a couple of weeks if you can post an update.

Here's a pic of the whole group. With the black one in question to the right.
The lighter ones with the feathered legs look like fashion models wearing the latest stylish bell bottoms. Cute!

As for the dark one, it's going to take another week or so, unless you see a pink comb tomorrow!
