Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

I have to respectfully disagree with you on the second one... I'm almost positive she's a girl (she has to be she's my favorite lol).
This is the best comb Picture I could take of Lucinda this morning. She's very friendly and shy. I usually end up befriending the "bottom of the pecking order" girls. They love me and I reciprocate lol

When I sex my EE's I try not to go by any 'one' specific thing. I try to see if they have several traits that are indicative of males, such as: thicker legs than the others, larger and redder comb, coloration... etc. Granted I've only sexed 4 that I've raised before these, but I successfully sexed them all before they left the brooder

Here are the pics I took this morning of Chaz (formerly known as Chastity lol)

She is a little terror though...

Oh my gosh she is soooo cute!

LOL thanks! She has such beautiful feathering too... nothing to fancy in her coloring, but she is very beautiful... yet... she drives me crazy!!! She tries to act like the big lady and all the other hens and our little rooster are like yeah sure go ahead you crazy lady... she jumps, she fluffs up, she beats up, but yet she takes care of her little sister... super cute

I was so glad to see these thread I was wondering if I had males because some of them had little bumps where spurs would grow but I did some research and found out that hens can have spurs to but I still wasn't to sure so I did some more research and found this thread and discovered that my girls had the typical female color thank god

Dark red coloration, that is a boy. Hatched out one that looks just like him.

I've enjoyed this thread so much! I thought for sure after looking at all the pictures, I would be able to tell the sex my own EE's, but alas, I can only make an educated guess!

These guys/gals are 11 weeks, hatchery stock, and were all sexed as girls. Could you guys weigh in and tell me what you think?

This is falcon. I think it's a roo, based on the tail feathers. But s/he doesn't have a very red, large comb, and doesn't follow the color patterns many of the other roo's here do. Falcon was the biggest chick, is the quietest of all the EE's, and certainly the mellowest.

One of my Light Brahma girls in the front, Falcon in the middle, and NHR girl in the back.

Here's a few pictures of wood chicken, or formally known as Ginger.

S/he's the smallest of all the EE's I bought and her/his tail is growing in the slowest. Ginger has the brightest personality, so whacky and always on the run. S/he's very sweet though, and loves to fall asleep in my lap. I think Ginger is a girl.

And this is Chamomile. I'm pretty sure she is a hen. She acts, and looks a lot like my other EE hen's.

Thanks so much. You guys are amazing! (Edited for a typo!)

Woohoo. That's great news! My husband would not have been thrilled about a roo, and I really am in love with Falcon. She's been one of my very favorites from the beginning.
