Any Ideas on this one? 4 weeks old. She is bigger by far than the other two easter eggers that I have . And it's funny I can't really see the colors until I use the flash on the camera. She looks gray to me.

So far it looks like a pullet. Kind of young to be sure just yet.

I can't tell. I have been watching this post for a while. People will say Pullet .... or Rooster. And I still don't know how you all are telling them apart. I guess it's because I am new to this. Maybe in a couple of years I will be able to tell too? I appreciate any help with this so thank you Wishing4Wings....I will post another picture in a couple of weeks

I have a this EE, I believe thats what it is, who is 11 weeks old. My other EE I knew at 5 weeks that he was a cockerel but this ones comb just turned this week, also it has no wattle growth at all..

With a big red comb like that, I'd say cockerel. Sorry. Rarely do pullets have big red comb at 11 weeks. I had a boy whose comb was very small and light up until week 9 or 10 and the comb suddenly grew twice its size in days right after the alpha male was given away. He quickly took over the top spot.

This has been a very interesting and informative thread for me! I loved looking at all the different kind of Easter Eggers, though it's got me convinced I hatched a one hen batch of chicks again. I have three, two are splash colored, one with more wild coloring who's too sweet.Unfortunately, he's got red on his wings, which makes him male, right? He's got WAY more tail than the other two EEs. They're all six weeks. And these are the white chicks, the one with fewer spots is obviously a hen--no comb to speak of and very pale comb. Speedy(on left, assumed girl) and Dr. Spots together. Two boys one girl?

The 2 spotted look like splash. And girls.

It could be a cockerel but I wouldn't say for certain it is. It probably is but there's a small chance it's a pullet. Some of my wyandottes have gotten red combs early and are pullets.

Wattles and bearding are normally a one or the other occurrence. Rarely, you'll see a lightly bearded chicken with wattles. So, lack of them is unrelated to gender.

Your chick is a cockerel. No doubt at all. Females might blush pink at this age but your boy has significant comb growth to go with the deepening color.

Pullet! See the pretty, pinkish hue coming in on the chest and the drab patterning of the back? All girl.
