Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

They are pics from a friend who are looking to give them good homes. Im only interested in the hens. Roos go in the freezer bc I already have two. I thought the one looked like a silver laced Wyandotte myself. Thank you for the help. They are 12 weeks from what I've been told.

Not in those pictures they aren't. Look at the stubby little tails! All 7 of my new chicks had more tail than that at THREE weeks.

If you can get your friend to send current pictures, especially good comb pictures, it is likely you can get a fairly definitive answer.

It's not uncommon for a cockerel to not start crowing until after 8 months old. At 12 weeks, the male specific feathering is just beginning to develop. Keep an eye out for long, thin, shiny feathers on the back near the base of the tail. Those are the male saddle feathers and they are usually the first male feathers to be come in. Before 12 weeks old, the comb and red shoulder patches are the most reliable ways to spot cockerels.

Thank you @junebuggena , I'm going to try to get some new pictures of them this weekend. Their combs are not nearly as red as the other definite roosters, so I'm holding out hope. They have a home if they are roosters, so that much is good. Just hoping I have at least one hen from that hatch!

here are a few pics of three of my EE babies...they are 4 weeks old. TWO have gold on their shoulders and around their bodies and one is just black and white barred. i'm thinking the black and white one is a pullet and the other two are roos...any ideas? the "pullet" is in the middle of these pics

and i think this one is the "pullet" under my sons hand made roost haha

Alright, tried to get a few pictures of my 3 Easter Egger/Dominique crosses... Any new guesses on gender? They are 12.5 weeks old now. The one golden rooster pictured is from the same hatch but is crossed with RIR, showed him for reference.

So I am pretty sure he is a rooster but thought I would throw it out for everyone. At first people all thought pullet but tail looks pretty too like. He is almost 14 weeks.

My EE's must be early bloomers

. By 8 weeks they are practising their husky crows, and at 16 weeks they are already breeding my hens.
