Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

We finally took the girls for a field trip to the great outdoors. So I got a couple of pics of one that baffles us. She/he doesn't look like any of the others. We originally picked 15 Golden Comets and 5 Easter Eggers. Trying to figure out if this 3 1/2 week old is either breed and male/female? She/he was the first to feather of the group. We thought it was a Golden Comet because it was yellow/buff as a chick. But it had green legs, unlike the rest of that group. We definitely have all the 5 ordered Easter Eggers (all darker browns/greys) Was it a mixup? What's your best guess? Thanks so much! My son is hoping it isn't a roo as it would have to find a new home...

Looks like an Easter Egger, can't see the comb well enough to tell male/female, though.

Please help, I have 5 chicks 6 - 7 wks old, got them at 1 day to 1 wks old, and all are doing well. On Saturday a friend gave gave me 2 easter eggers that he said were 8 wks old. My problem - my sweet little chicks are attacking the EE's not to mention I think one of them may be a roo. The friend who has had chickens for a long time said to just put them in with the ones I have, that they were all young and would settle down in a day or so. Well today is Monday and it's not getting any better in fact my chicks attack every chance they get and have pulled the feathers out of the back of one of the EE. Please tell me what to do, I don't have any where to put the 2 EE's and I would like to know if you think one is a roo

The one on the left I think maybe a roo the one on the right I am hoping is a hen
Please help a new chicken person

The local Agway ordered them for us, so, yes, they came through the mail. The kind folks at Agway separated them out for the individual customer orders. Guess we'll just keep watching that comb. It's different from the rest of the chicks' combs. Kind of flat and knobby. Thanks!

I think you are right...roo, pullet.

Can you put a fence between the chicks? after a few days maybe you can let them get back together.

Ok, here are the "girls" at 12 weeks old. I'm pretty much thinking that I originally had it backwards and the one that I thought was a boy is a girl and vice versa. As ever, if they're both girls the better ;)

Boy? Is this an example of a really wonky three row pea comb?

Same bird:

Same bird, hackle feathers look pointy to me

Both birds. Good example of tail feathers on the one posted above.

Same two. Both are pure white, the one in front has mud on her (his) neck. Don't exactly know how that happened.

Kian, the pointy, curling tail looks very familiar. Combined with the defined and reddish comb, I strongly suspect cockerel. But no, those aren't pointy hackles yet. You'll know them when you see them -- very skinny and glossy plus there will be a matching saddle. At 12 weeks, you might be able to see the rooster saddles emerging if you look between the feathers on the lower back.

I noticed the same thing on my cockerel. I'm brand new at the chicken raising thing.. but I thought from the time our chicks were about 5-6 weeks old, something was different about Spots. He's our Americauna. Same upright, narrow tail. Very interesting that our experiences are the same!
