Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

How old are they?  Connie looks like a pullet and despite the dark red, I think Izzy also looks like a pullet. The red is on her neck and chest, so it may be part of an overall color pattern for 'her,' and the way she is standing in that first pick just looks girlish to me.  If they are much younger than 9-10 weeks, I might think differently. Hope to hear more opinions.

They were born February 24th so they are ten weeks old. You have no idea how happy this makes me! I sure hope you are right. Izzy is one of the nicest birds I have ever known and I have been really bummed out to think she might be a he. Sometimes it is wonderful to be wrong :)

Well I hope I'm right too!!! I'm going to feel terrible if I'm wrong! The pics aren't enlarging for me tonight for some reason, so I'm going off of the small pics. Izzy doesn't look like s/he has much of a tail, but the comb is pretty red. The fact that s/he is so friendly is troubling, because it's usually the cockerels that are friendly.

Overall, the shape just looks like a pullet though. Keeping my fingers crossed for you and Izzy.

I think they're both pullets also. Izzy seems to have the dip-dyed coloring of a female sexlink -- white at the back and red in the front. It's not in a pattern that screams male. Then you see the body shape is so very girly and the comb is pink but it isn't popping up with definition so I think she's just getting started. I haven't had an EE stay yellow past 6 weeks so maybe I'm biased by my little sample group but I may just change my mantra to, "If it isn't growing, don't fear crowing."

Ditto what Illia said.  The males will have "smuttiness", especially in the shoulder area.  Also, male coloring is more flashy.  Very few black and white EE's are females.

Ivy......you have 2 pullets.

Kristip.....a little early, but looks like my hen did as a chick.

Hi,
What is "smuttines"?

Oh I am loving these answers! :D
Is there a page that defines terms? I just posted about what is smuttiness and now I am wondering what sex-link means.

Okay I have been procrastinating about putting up pictures of my chickens because I am pretty sure what answers I am going to get on the he/she question. Fingers crossed that I have totally misunderstood everything that I have read here and I have two lovely girls...
This is Izzy:

These are the new feathers that are coming in on Izzy's shoulders.

I am not allowed to have roosters where I live so I am hoping for girls...
They both look like pullets. Izzy looks like she has Salmon Favorelle in her.
