Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

Ginger hasn't changed much in a week. :pop

A "wide comb" is a reference to 3 rows of peas developing. In Ginger's case, the comb is a rose type with a central "noodle" from the pea influence. I wouldn't worry about width, just growth. Most males would be showing growth by now. There are a few late bloomers but :fl

The next set of feathers should start soon and either she'll have either more of the same or he'll have pointy/shiny feathers emerging in the neck.

Same as white one different view

Now this one looks masculine. The comb is sprouting three rows and the splashes of red are all in the wing/back area. Pretty sure this is a young cockerel. How old?

Re-check, one of our EE's is coming up on 8 weeks now. Before most guesses were rooster, but a couple said that of the bunch this one was the only possibility of being a hen. The other ones that we are sure are boys have bigger, more red combs now, while this one still has a small, lighter comb.

'She' is the the white and brown one, in front of one we know is a boy, for comb comparison.

Thoughts? I was really hoping for some green eggs, this one is our last hope for this year!

A suggestion for those wanting others to make a guess on sexing your birds. Please state the age of the chicken! Also, try to get close up of the comb as well as overall photo. Try to get some good lighting also. Making guesses are going to be based on color of chick, their comb, their legs, their stance, as well as presence of saddle or hackle feathers. Any good photos of these areas will help!

Not looking for much about Gender here but more about color She was light grey when I got her, feathered in white and now she's getting golden marks.

I'm too much of a newbie to give my thoughts on gender but I just wanted to say that that is a beautiful chicken! I love the coloring.. too bad the red might mean a cockeral :/ I'll be posting pics of my black and white EE soon for gender conformation. Good luck!
