There are a few ways they are allowed to dispose of unwanted chicks in the US but that's not one of them. The most commonly used technique, I believe, is to send them through a high speed blade - kind of like a wood chipper. Instant death. And I really doubt they toss out the resulting chicken meat product since it is an ingredient in many pet foods.

I bought this EE as a pullet. I am starting to think it is a rooster now. It has pointed feathers and it has dark red on it's wings. The comb on it is starting to turn more red too, but it isn't too big. What do you all think?

The only thing that really concerns me are the dark feathers on the wings--but they aren't even in the area I first look for red cockerel feathers (which would be higher up on the shoulders).

Idk, Its posture looks like other roo I have that is the same age as this one and it's tail feathers and neck feathers are more pointed. This one has me stumped.

You would know the posturing better--I don't like to consider it much in a handful of images. I know my henliest hens will suddenly stand like a rooster the moment I pull out the camera.

I love Easter Eggers, but their mixed heritage does lead to some sexing headaches. I'll probably be posting another one of mine here for help in a couple weeks.

Your EE pullet is a cockerel for sure. I hope you can exchange him for a real pullet.
