Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

Anyone want to take a stab at this one - s/he's completely all white, no buff lacing leaking through. 8 weeks old.


The body picture is awful and not very helpful, but no long tail feathers (it's early for that, I know)




Pinkish comb...

PROBABLY girl. More difficult if solid color chicks. I have two that are pure white just like yours, one with pinker comb, and both turned out girls.

3rd pict is last weekend (6 1/2 wk)..The big white/black one is the one I question...think he's a fellow...caught him abusing the smaller black/white one on the right today...I could see signs of him picking! The top two are really different chicks. The top one acts like a fellow. Will peck my hand when I am putting the food/water i the pen..has a pinker comb of the two..The other one is more placid. Can you all tell anything. They are 8 wks as of today..Took out both of the ones I think are boys and put them in a small pen and put it in the big hen coop where they couldn't see their buddies and only see big hens. They are protected and fed/watered but isolated... I just couldn't believe how aggressive he was being.

Thank you,,,,both of those in the first/top pict are the two that I segregated. That silver one is the big boy in the last pict. He was the one pecking and the reddish one in the top pict is the other one I segregated with the silver one. His comb is really red already!!

Going crazy here..............LOLOL...................really ! I'm trying to upload pictures of my babies but can't get them to save as jpeg.......always saves as doc.x What am I doing wrong. I've had other pictures uploaded....it doesn't even offer jpeg when I go to save the pictures!!!!! HELP !!!

Try renaming the file under the "Save As" option... so open it up on your CP and then hit "Save As" it shou;d pop up a bunch of options including the name just remane it with a .jpeg ending. That should work.

Thank you Laura: for some reason it allowed me to select the "downloads" and be able to select from there... before it wouldn't allow me to go there! Must have been PMSing of something....LOLOL

The second one looks like a cockerel.  I still think the first one is a pullet.

I hope you are right! Would be nice to have at least 2 ladies in the bunch.

Still not sure on this one! 10 weeks old, it's suppose to be a pullet but it's coloring suggests cockerel. The brick redish color does seem more chocolate brown now. Its comb isn't nearly as developed as the cockerels that are a week older and they have saddle feathers already but I'm not getting my hopes up yet.
