It's what the thread is for!

1st pic: don't know, pullet, pullet
2nd pic: cockerel (see that red comb?)
3rd pic: Is the small chick the same one in the first pic? Would need to see a side view and comb. The larger one looks like a cockerel, but I'd want to see the comb to verify.
No the one in the first pict is fully feathered and now showing the beige (buff) tips on the body... Both of the ones in the first pict have a lower turn down tail which I think it also a sign of a cockrel isn;t it? The last one has a pale pink comb and its the one with bare spots because of the cockrel pinning it down and actually pulling at its skin. The rest of the chicks do not bother it at all even though that one abused it so much. Even its tail got broken in so many places..now is short...was longer and more developed like the others.

So, I was on here a few weeks ago thinking one of my EEs might be a roo, but I'm pretty sure she's all girl.

Now? Pretty sure my other EE is a roo

She/he has been making some sounds that seem like she/he might be trying to crow. He/She also looks very different from my other EE.

Are those saddle feathers I'm seeing?

Thanks for the help. You guys are the best!

That's a pullet. Cockerel saddle feathers are quite narrow and sharply pointed. They are also very shiny or glassy looking. No other signs of a cockerel here!

Wow, ok good to know!
Is there anything to the fact that she looks so different from my other EE? Or is that just a difference between the darker ones, and the more yellow ones. (I have a feeling they are identified by terms other than "darker" and "yellow". Spot the noob!)

Quote: That is one of the best things about EEs, they come in all different colors! The colors can be hard to describe too, partly because they vary so much. Much discussion, argument, and refining goes into getting a new variety (color) into the Standard of Perfection for chicken breeds. Then when they are crossed, the varieties are sort of like... but there often isn't an agreed upon description. A lot of people would use "gold duckwing" or "gold wild type" to describe your lighter pullet. but I still am not super clear on what it all means!

By the way, wait until your birds go through their first molt. They may end up looking quite different. Here are before and after shots of one of mine.
