Thanks so much, abserbean...I'll take some reassurance with this. I know the pecking order is nothing to mess around with, but as first-timers we're quite watchful and just trying to figure it out! So glad this is a place of many experts.
 
Here is a comparison of my two blue/grey chicks. At four weeks you couldn't tell them apart, at six one was starting to show as a roo but wasn't very convincing, and by eight weeks it is obvious that we have one roo and one pullet.
