Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

frg34, the pics are a bit blurry (EEs don't like to sit still!

), but all 3 look like pullets (assuming they are over 8 weeks).

Thanks, forgot to say they are close to 12 weeks. Yeah, they are still getting to know me and are a bit uncomfortable, as I just got back from 7 weeks away. Hope for 3 pullets; my 3 BCM are all cockerels :( (was hoping for just one cockerel amongst the BCM).
Hopefully these are better, chickens in reverse order this time:
number 3

number 2

number 1

Those colors and patterns are all pullets. Cockerels are usually pretty obvious by 12 weeks.
Love your waterer. I got some of those nipples, but haven't messed with them yet. How did you hang your waterer?

Thanks for both replies (and the good news confirmation). For the waterer, I just drilled a small hole maybe an inch above the base of the bottle and put a screw in the wood column that goes in that hole. I just use my finger to block the hole in the bottle when I take it off for a refill.

I also got my water bottle from the recycle bin. I drilled through the bottom (in a flat area) to avoid the drips while refilling. (I had to add a couple air holes in the cap.) The key to adding the nipples is to start with a slightly smaller drill bit. If it fits snug, you won't need putty. If it doesn't fit, use the next size up & repeat.

Because I use this waterer for my growing chicks/pullets I need to change the height often. I just made a hanging handle out of scrap wire & use an adjustable chain (or even string). It's not pretty, but highly functional. Who wants to clean out poop from the water 3xs a day!

Found him a home didn't take more than a week. Funny though how people answer ads, say they will come by today or now and never show up. At least this guy did.

very useful pics. Now I just have to go find some nipples. The local feed store does not have them.
