Age really matters when trying to sex EEs, and I was on the fence about Arizona thinking s/he was 12 weeks in the pic. Knowing Arizona was 8 wks, I will jump off the fence on the cockerel side, due to pink comb and overall "pretty" coloring, which are usually cockerels. Add four weeks and I'd expect his comb to be quite obviously red, fat, and prominent. My 12 week pullets had very similar combs as Arizona in the picture, only pale. So you probably did right sending Arizona to your sister. Ask her to send you a pic. Love to see how the bird looks know (and to see for sure that he's a he). That picture of Arizona was actually when s/he was about 8 weeks. S/he was one of the (I thought at the time) for sure males, so I sent "him" off with my sister, who needed roosters as well as hens. I just added the picture in with the chickens I actually kept, because I was curious if I had made the right decision. Now I am kind of regretting it, as so many are on the fence about the gender. The comb was bright red and significantly raised, though maybe not as definite, at the time.

Your Ginger sounds like he looks like my King Tut.My hens look like yours and one of my roosters looks speckled like yours but with more white. I didn't realize that was a "thing" for easter eggers.
But I have one EE rooster, Ginger, that's bright red with a black neck and sickle feathers. He is bearded and has a pea comb. He's beautiful.

Im not expecting a certain answer, but does this pattern look like it will be female? Father was a lavender ameraucana and mpther was either a red sexlink or silver laced wyandotte. (Has a single comb). Born maybe June 13th? Feathering out very fast. Picture was taken last week maybe. Extremely friendly and loves attention. Also, which mother do you think she came from? Ill update with another picture when she is fully featherec. Im thinking girl. Comb has no development and is small and pale as well as flopped over/not straight up.
Pics please I want to see him.![]()
