Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

I have 3 8 week Easter Eggers. So, far I can tell that 2 of them are cockerals. The 3rd I believe is a pullet due to its pale small single row comb and general demeanor. However, its coloring pattern is throwing me off. I really hope she is a pullet. I hatched out 13 eggs(Easter Egger, Buff Orpington, and Australorp) and got 3 pullets, 8 cockerals and 1 unknown (this Easter Egger) What does everyone else think?

This one is tough. The comb is small and pale, the coloring and pattern are pretty regular and even. That red is on the wing, but it doesn't look dark enough for 'rooster red', and it's in the wrong spot. Cockerels usually get red leakage primarily on the the shoulder.
I think this one is a wait and see.

I'm leaning strongly toward cockerel on this one, as I had a rooster last year that was almost a spinning image of your bird at that age. He had a small, single row comb, so at first I thought he was a pullet, but it soon became obvious that he was a he. However, I'm not 100% sure that you have a cockerel, there is still a small chance that this is a pullet. You should know very soon though.

I agree though isn't red in a B&W bird pretty odd? The saddle feathers look pretty rounded which would say pullet.

Not if there is a mahogany gene at play. Just look at Salmon Faverolles. They are silver wheaten with the mahogany gene.

Well, if it weren't for that dang red spot, I'd say pullet. If the black on the upper wing was white, that would be a male. Just for the record, I think it's a pullet. I think.

Will be really interesting to see in a couple of weeks. Hope you post again!

Anyone out there still waiting for eggs from fall EE chickies??!! The suspense is killing me!! Will June lay a pretty colored egg for me?! She just started squating and her comb is bright red!! AHHH!!

6 months

One is the EE and the other is a Buff Orp and they develop slower

so I won't get an egg from her for another month I'm sure. Her eggs should be really big I think. But until then I am crossing fingers for my pastel egg!!

I am new to this forum, and new to EEs. We purchased 6 EE chicks who are now 5 1/2 weeks old. I am interested in finding out if they are all females. There is one in particular that I am questioning. 5 of the chicks have a single comb that is quite small and are pale yellow/white, in color. The 6th chick has a comb that seems to have the three bumps and is quite pink. I am posting a pic below to see what you all think. Thanks!!
