Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

Back in March we got day old Easter Egger chicks knowing we were taking a chance on one being a rooster. We ended up having to get rid of one that was most definitely a rooster. But a few days later another of the EEs started making that trying to crow sound. At first I was hoping it was just a hen trying to mimic the rooster's crow and making herself dominant. But over the last week or so the crowing has gotten a lot more pronounced. It's still only happening every other day in the mornings, but I want to know for sure if I've got another boy on my hands. They're about 15 weeks.

I've had my doubts about this one truly being a hen, especially with those tail feathers. Here's the crowing Honey:

And our other EE, Penny. Here's to hoping she's not a he too:

Both of those Easter Eggers are 100% cockerel. Patchy coloring, deep rusty red through the shoulder, and very clearly visible male saddle feathers. Denial is blinding...

I'm sure everyone is sick of seeing these chicks, but I really appreciate all the views and comments.

Hoping to see if I'm right about my gender guesses. All babies are 8 weeks old. I did get rid of 3 chicks that I felt pretty sure were cockerels.

Here's Smudge, very even pattern, no darker color noted coming in on wings, shoulders, etc. While the comb is pinker than I care for, it will fade when not excited. I'm leaning heavily towards pullet at this point.

Sandy: still very small comb, single row of peas. Will flush very pink, but pale at times.

And Gandalf. I still think this is a cockerel. His cheeks are so fluffy. His head and neck feathers look like a mane it's so wavy, but...the comb is more robust. It isn't a distinct three rows, but like 3 rows squished together. Fairly pink all the time. Since I got rid of the other cockerel chicks, this one is now in charge (of the chicks).

I still think Midna is pullet, so I'm not even posting her pic. She's the only one I've been convinced is a pullet since just a couple of weeks old.

Thanks for looking!

Smudge and Sandy are pullets.

Yeah, Gandalf is probably a boy.
Why does he have to be sooo pretty??? Well, I'll keep him a bit longer. Once he starts crowing, I hope he'll be so handsome that someone will snatch him up for breeding. I would use a "no-crow" collar, but they seem unnatural and possibly dangerous. My hens are loud enough as it is (sound like geese). I don't need to give my neighbors any reason to complain.

They are very pretty. First two are girls the last one is questionable. I did have a EE girl get a red comb early but the comb was sill small. But I would link roo for the last one.

I'm so confused. I have believed this entire time that I had one boy three girls and now I'm thinking four pullets. They are almost six months old. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
