Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

Bummer. That's what I thought too. Here's my dilemma. I got 6 sexed chicks, and if this one is a roo, that's 2/6 roosters. The other roo is a SLW, 100% roo at this point. We can keep one rooster. The feed store where I got them has some buff orpingtons leftover - should I get a couple? We can keep one roo but don't have enough hens/space for two. My kids are going to fight about which one to keep too. I already have two buff pullets - I'm 90/100% sure they are pullets.

Yes I'll post an update when we get back from vacation - I have a chicken sitter taking care of them. What's the minimum "definite" age to sex EEs do you think? I also think the color is feminine. Professor Cluck is the name - no comb yet was making me hopeful too.

Both my EE sexed pullet cockerels were showing possible cockerel by 4 wks and definite by 6 wks. Not all are the same. Late bloomer could show closer to 8 or 9 wks.

With that coloring, a cockerel will get the dark red on the wings. You could poke around under the feathers and see if any are coming in. I'm leaning toward pullet.

Everyone swore one of our EEs was a roo. SHE just started laying. Don't give up hope yet. Give it some more time.

Someone thinks he/she is a cockerel which I don't mind but I want to see what you think. (Sorry they are cropped images so they may be blurry and they aren't the best pics)
Update: he/she has a larger comb but is still pink, I'm guessing because my SLW cockerel is dominate. Tries to spar with the pullets and cockerels also has thick legs

The saddle feathers all look rounded not pointy like a cockerel.... coloring not really "patchy" or "flashy".I am guessing hen too.

2nd Update: started crowing this morning, it's a cockerel...we gotta get rid of him
