Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

Here is Nelson. He is almost 11 weeks old here in these pictures. S/he is getting defined red on his upper wings. Saddle feathers still looking relatively round. Hackle feathers looking a little pointy. Thank you for your time.View attachment 1936013View attachment 1936014

This looks like a pullet to me. Male vs Female saddle feathers will start coming in soon... next couple of weeks.

Hi, I used to raise ducks but one night something got all of them. I convinced my wife to let me get chickens now due to them being less messy (I love the ducks but man were they a mess). So I got 2 Easter Eggers a few rocks and Wyandotte’s. My friend who used to breed chickens cane over yesterday and told me one if not both Easter Eggers were males. He said it’s been a while since he’s dealt with them but he was pretty sure.
They are 3-4 weeks old, I know it’s a bit early to tell but the bigger one had huge legs, and charges me occasionally. I would like to know as early as possible so I can get replacements.
Here they are

It is too soon to be absolutely certain, but I think your friend is probably right, especially for the first one. Second one, the pic of the comb is not as clear.
I have had large, thick legged EE pullets that charge and jump on other chicks. Before 8 weeks, they both had a single, very thin ridge down the center of an otherwise flat comb.

I think you have 2 pullets. I don’t see any red on the wings or backs, and tails look pretty well developed. All my pullets grow tails first. Hope yours are girls. Good luck!

I have some 9 and a half week old EE one I’m not sure on a rooster. Based on coloring I think roostaer and a few pointed saddle and hackle feathers.
