Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

That's a tricky one. I suspect a male, but am not sure. Maybe have to wait another week.
You might not see any red on this bird, but looks like solid white patches are developing on the wings which is another male sign. The color can change a lot at this age, so again, I'm not certain, but leaning toward cockerel.

Good pictures, but now I'm even more unsure. No longer leaning toward male at this point... more like flip a coin! The comb is so pale, and the pattern on the wings is not screaming cockerel... yet. A pullet pea comb is usually a small, narrow ridge down the center of the comb. I am seeing little bumps along the sides of that ridge, which usually is a male comb, but I have seen a few turn out to be pullets.
Although the comb is pale, it's pale pink... my pullets were pale peach colored. Keep an eye on that comb. If it starts getting brighter pink or the bumps along the comb ridge get more prominent (more lumpy) then you have a cockerel. If nothing changes in a week, there's a better chance of a pullet. I hope you can post some more pictures next week. I really want to see how this one turns out.

Okay! The comb seems to me to have gotten slightly puffier, especially at the top but the color hasn’t changed significantly. At times during the day it is extremely pale. This bird is definitely the bottom of the pecking order and is not bold or confident in the least. What do you think?

The pattern on the wings says pullet. The comb is unusual, but so pale. 6 weeks now? I'm betting on pullet... there's just nothing about the coloring that says male. Still, an outside chance it's a late blooming cockerel.

Behavior is not the best indicator of sex. I had a huge EE chick, very bold and pushy, liked to jump up and cannonball the other chicks. She is 8 yrs old now, very mellow, and still laying eggs. Conversely, I had some Serama chicks, 2 males were obvious at 3 wks. One chick was very timid and submissive... late bloomer male showed up at 5+ weeks.

The trash chickens are almost 12 weeks old now and no signs of roosterhood. They even talk like pullets. Whew!

Why do we call them trash chickens?

Good morning! We bought 3 easter egger chicks back in the spring in the hopes that we would be adding 3 hens. I'm thinking we ended up with 3 roos. Would you please take a look and let me know what you think? They are about 4 months old. Thank you!

At that age these all look like hens to me! Basing that on comb size/color, and feather shape/color pattern. There’s no telltale random rooster patches and all of the feathers look very rounded in shape. I’m not an expert but I vote hens. Pretty birds!

You have 3 beautiful pullets!
At 4 months a cockerel would have a red comb noticeable across the yard.
